Germany’s MEISSEN(R) Opens A Luxury Boutique At Harrods, London

800px-HarrodsDayThe MEISSEN(R) luxury group recently opened its first MEISSEN HOME boutique in the United Kingdom at world renowned Harrods Department Store in Knightsbridge, London.  The German based firm, known since 1710 for its fine porcelain, has diversified and is now markets its own lines of luxury jewelry, watches, fashion accessories, fine art, home furnishing. and decorations.

The Harrod’s boutique will offer Meissen’s fine porcelain artworks, its handcrafted porcelain tableware and its new furniture and fabrics as an integrated luxury interiors brand.

“Harrods is a key location for us  in Europe”, said Dr. Christian Kurtzke, MEISSEN’s CEO, “To achieve such an important retail presence, encourages us in our globalization strategy in other international markets.” Annalise Quest, Director of Home at Harrods, believes MEISSEN HOME will offer its discerning customers a creative option for modern day living while retaining its brand heritage and commitment to artisan craftsmanship.

MEISSEN(R) is planning to introduce its luxury brand jewelry and couture lines in the United Kingdom in the near future.  In late September, during Milan, Italy’s fashion week, the company introduced its new line of handmade cocktail, evening, and bridal dresses as well as its hand painted leather & silk accessories.

Founded in 1824, Harrods, is London’s leading upscale retail establishment. With over 330 departments in one million square feet of retail space, its the biggest department store in Europe.
