5 Fall Fashion Tips Every Mom Should Know

Moms love that fall fashion means breaking out the comfy sweaters, funky scarves, and stylish boots to keep you feeling warm and cozy. It’s a special time of year when layering is your best option and it’s also a great time to try out some of the latest fashion trends. You also want to pick up some new accessories like chic tote bags for moms or some bold, statement jewelry. Now that you have some ideas of what your go-to pieces should be during the fall, here is a list of fashion faux pas that all moms should avoid this season.

1. Never wear leggings as pants

Leggings are super comfy and we’ve all had those days where we’re tempted to try our hand at pulling them off as pants. This is simply not a flattering look for most women. Many times women fail to realize that their underwear is visible through their leggings! If the top you’re wearing isn’t long enough to cover your bottom, ditch the leggings or opt for wearing a skirt over them.

2. Save your spring/summer dresses for warm weather

Sundresses and cover ups should only be worn during the warmer months. You may like their bright colors and floral patterns but they won’t keep you warm enough in the fall. You can still wear brightly colored clothing in the fall, but try looking for sweater dresses that you can pair with tights and over-the-knee boots to keep you warm.

3. Leave the strappy sandals at home

Strappy sandals and open-toe shoes are better left for the warmer weather unless you want to deal with freezing toes. Pair your favorite outfits with ankle booties or ballet flats for a more fall-friendly look.

4. Avoid wearing mismatched prints

Sometimes you see women rocking this look and you wonder if you can pull it off yourself. This is a look for only the most adventurous of us who have some extra time in the mornings to coordinate printed separates. If you must wear this look, pair prints with complementary colors and ditch the loud accessories.

5. There’s no need for oversized bags

Sometimes bigger is not always better. Sure, moms always need to be prepared and with a baby in tow, a bag that fits all of the essentials and then some is a necessity. However, large and cutesy diaper bags are a thing of the past and moms can now find stylish and functional diaper bags that they can also use for work, travel, gym and more! House of Botori offers contemporary mom and baby diaper bags in fun signature prints with plenty of space for storage. These bags are the perfect size for moms so you can leave the excessively large bag at home.
