4-Step DIY Bath & Body Ritual to Prep for a Night of Beauty Sleep

Amala_ProductStillLife_004aTerese Linke, global spa training and education director for Amala natural and organic skin care, shares a four-step DIY bath and body ritual to prep for a night of beauty sleep.

  1. Body Scrub: A full-body skin exfoliation is key to removing dead skin cells to soften the skin, and better allowing it to absorb moisturizers. Place 1-2 tablespoons of Amala’s Detoxifying Body Polish into a small bowl to bring into the tub. Before submerging into warm water, take a minute to exfoliate the body. Standing, take a small amount of polish into damp hands and use gentle circular movements to apply the scrub all over the body. The finely crushed olive stones will gently and effectively sloth away dry dead skin cells and help stimulate circulation. Once feeling invigorated, submerge into the warm water.

  1. Body Soak: Soaking in warm water with sea salt and essential oils can do wonders for both the body and mind to de-stress, relax and unwind. Pour three scoops of Amala’s Detoxifying Bath Crystals into warm, running bath water.  Slowly submerge the body and soak for at least 15 minutes. The mineral rich Mediterranean Sea Salt, infused with organic almond and essential oils, is nondrying, and will soften and hydrate the skin.

  1. Aromatherapy: Aromatherapy is an effective way to rest and relax from within. While soaking in the tub, roll a small amount of Amala’s Relax Lavender Concentrate onto wrists, temples and behind the ears. Then, spray a light mist of Amala’s Relax Room and Linen Mist in the air and over pillows at bedtime. The comforting scents will help you slip into a state of slumber.

  1. Body Oil: When dry skin gets flaky, rich creams often stick to winter clothing. Fix this by switching to a lightweight, natural body oil.  Post-bath, gently pat skin dry and apply a few pumps of Amala’s Detoxifying Body Oil onto a soft, damp cloth.  Rub the oil-infused cloth all over the body for a light and more even coverage of moisture.
