The Memorial Foundation Launches Campaign To Honor The Legacy Of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. And His Inspiring, Landmark Speech; I Have A Dream

martin-luther-kingOn the 52nd anniversary of the famous “I Have a Dream” speech and the March on Washington, The Memorial Foundation, the builders of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial on the National Mall, is proud to launch an inspiring campaign entitled, Celebrate the Dream…Share the Dream. This unique digital social media campaign will allow anyone based in the U.S. and around the globe to share their thoughts and reflections about the March on Washington, Dr. King, other civil rights icons, their speeches and their actions that moved us. This engaging campaign will allow many to express through in their own words what the speech means to them and their family in 2015.


By going to the Memorial Foundation’s web site;, visitors will able to record a message via audio or video and/or write a personal message or poem that reflects Dr. King’s historical message of justice, hope, democracy & love.

“We are more than enthused to launch this engaging and immersive campaign, which will allow many Americans and our to share their personal thoughts and reflections in honor of the legacy of not
only Dr. King but other civil rights icons over a 30 day period,” states Harry Johnson, President/CEO of the Memorial Foundation. “With the pressing social issues of the day and they include: such tragedies as Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Freddie Gray , the Charleston 9 , the Confederate flag  issue and the social unrest that is occurring  around the globe, what better time to highlight the reason why we built the MLK Memorial, Dr. Kings words and the work that so many did promoting justice, hope, democracy and love for all.”

The mission of the Memorial Foundation is to keep the spirit and work of Dr. King’s living memorial relevant by leveraging the Memorial’s role as a beacon of inspiration and

which the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial in Washington, DC serves as a global beacon to inspire people to apply the principles of democracy, justice, hope, and love in their lives.
