Adidas Originals Releases New Collection by Rita Ora

ADIDAS_RT_ORA_SHOT_02_R_300_V3International singer and style icon Rita Ora releases two creatively groundbreaking collections as the third installment of collaborations with adidas Originals based on Japanese Geisha influences with the ‘Asian Arena’ collection and the art of movement and light inspired by the trapeze artist with the ‘Artistic Lights’ collection respectively this 2016. With complete design control, Ora was able to create sportswear collections encompassing worldwide travel elements to empower women to feel sexy and comfortable simultaneously.
The Asian Arena collection launches with a rich mythical allure and inspiration from the Japanese Geisha –  fusing culture and fashion components with a polished poetry –  using the graphic elements of three stripe taping, trefoils and straps. Following the inhabits of the Geisha, the collection is heavily influenced by the willow known for strength, subtlety, and grace.
The range consist of an array of key staple pieces including a heritage street silhouettes –  boldly restructured to nod to the wide arms of the classic kimono and the origami-esque structure of the obi and a hero reversible Souvenir Jacket – transforming the classic American bomber with traditional Japanese motifs and calligraphy under bespoke geometric RO Kamon stamps.
The Kimono – an important piece for Ora – layers oriental landscapes in an all-over print undulating under the graceful flights of powerful cranes. The beauty of this piece is maintaining cultural traditions while layering on a street edge to blend Rita’s inspiration while the accessories range consist of hats featuring extra wide brims on bucket and visor styles and an obi inspired box backpack.
To close the key pieces in the collection, footwear offers both form and function with enhanced sport and fashion lines. The versatile ZX FLux NPS Up combines graphic print and integrated embroidery for a luxurious 3D finish, while key concept styles Tubular, ZX Flux and Stan Smith use print placement to emphasize aesthetics and shape.
The Artistic Lights collection takes adidas Originals and collaborator/muse Rita Ora on a new journey creatively. The range gives rise to a colorful all-over lens-flare Reflecting Lights print applied to body-con silhouettes to form a collection that praises the visual poetry and dazzling costumery of aerobatic performances. The collection consist of a variety of key pieces which consist of skinny pencil skirts and leggings featuring all over prints or cut out sections, a pair of fashion lead shorts adorned with clear nylon overlays.
New silhouettes within the line include a dropped shoulder sweater with a cut away hip, track top, elbow cut outs with bands of three stripe taping frame contour-defining cuts. Repetitive in this collection is the Reflecting Lights graphic within footwear which is displayed on the cult favorite Adilette and the ZX Flux is wrapped in trapeze inspired bandage taping. To complete the collection, the range introduces a knee high sock with bold cut outs. Consistent design details within the collection are see-through mesh, transparent detailing and multiple layers create show- stopping effects in the new Tubular Defiant and Superstar Slip on.
“What makes this new collection unique from the previous ones is that I
think it is a little more luxurious and feminine. I like to show different
parts of my personality with my collections, so while I love streetwear, I
thought it was time to touch on that girlie side of my personal style as well.”
