Donald Harrison Quintet Brings New Orleans to Town Hall & Con Edison Black History Month Festival

International jazz artist and founder of Nouveau Swing Donald Harrison (back row, third from left) recently performed for more the 4,000 NYC school children at the Con Edison-The Town Hall  Black History Month Festival. Con Edison Strategic Partnerships manager Alton Murray (back row, second from left) welcomed everyone. After the show, students from P.S. 284 – The Lew Wallace School in Brooklyn (front row) joined Harrison and ensemble members (below wearing traditional Madri Gras costumes). The dazzling show was filled with blends of jazz, modern R&B, second-line, hip-hop, Mardi Gras Indian tradition and reggae rhythms. The show represents the 19th consecutive Town Hall-Con Edison partnership celebrating Black History Month with free performances for schoolchildren.
