Legislator Bynoe to Host 1st Annual Job Fair and Networking Expo

SONY DSCNassau County Legislator Siela Bynoe (D-Westbury), in conjunction with the Hempstead Chamber of Commerce, are holding the First Annual 2016 Job Fair Networking Expo, at Hempstead Public Library– Lower Level – 115 Nichols Court, Hempstead, NY on Friday June 3rd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This special event will offer a unique opportunity to connect job and career seekers with possible employers. Further, the outreach included contacting mental health providers in order to ensure persons in their care were informed of the event.

“We are proud to partner with the Mental Health Association of Nassau County on this great event which serves to help their clients adjust into the workplace environment without the stigma surrounding mental health. The event is open to everyone and we are proud to announce that we already have a total of twenty-five employers who will be ready to meet our talented job seekers.” said Legislator Siela Bynoe. In addition, the program will include an opportunity for job seekers to hear from a professional about the importance of career readiness.

This first annual event is being co-hosted by the Mental Health Association of Nassau County’s Vocational Education & Employment Programs. Their Interim Executive Director, Marcia Spector shares, “We are glad to provide this wonderful opportunity for the job seekers and local employers in Nassau County and Hempstead to meet. The consumers of the Mental Health Association of Nassau County and community at large will have the chance to showcase their skills and qualifications on an equal playing field. This job fair is among the first of its kind to challenge the stigma of Mental Illness and offer employers the opportunity to meet with individuals who may or may not have a mental health condition”.

Dress for success, bring your resume and get ready to meet face to face with some of Nassau’s employers who want to meet the talented job seekers.

Refreshments will be served and there will be raffles and door prizes to keep the event action packed and enjoyable. Each attendee will receive one ticket for entry into the raffle.

The job fair is free to all who participate,
