7th Annual “Holiday of Giving”

Nassau County Legislator Kevan Abrahams (D-L.D. 1) who represents the communities of Roosevelt, Uniondale, Freeport, Hempstead, Baldwin and East Meadow is pleased to announce the 7th Annual “Holiday of Giving “on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016 from 11am – 4 p.m. co-sponsored by Glory House Recovery, Inc. and Heeling Soles Inc. Special thanks to Dr. William Lloyd and the Uniondale School District, it will be hosted at Turtle Hook Middle School under the leadership of Dr. Donald Humphrey, located at 975 Jerusalem Ave. Uniondale NY.

“This is our seventh year of organizing this amazing event and I couldn’t be more proud. While our gracious hosts and sponsors help make this event possible, it’s the community that really makes it the event it is today,” said Legislator Kevan Abrahams. “Santa is really the star of this event and is only upstaged by the smiles he puts on all the kids faces. Come on down and join the fun.”

“We enjoy participating in this event because December is the perfect time of year to show your gratitude and give back. Please join me by donating toys and other items for the giveaway, as well as volunteering for what will be a great event.” shared Terenna Williams, Executive Director of Glory House Recovery.

In conclusion, the 7th Annual “Holiday of Giving” will celebrate the holidays with our special guest, “SANTA”, thanks to the Roosevelt and Uniondale Fire Departments, who will stop by to take pictures and give each child a toy. (Each child must be accompanied by an adult to receive a toy.) We will also offer family fun that includes making crafts, decorating ginger bread cookies, making cards and ornaments for our soldiers and a nursing home as well as raffling off jackets, socks and sneakers (while supplies last). Free information will be available from various county departments, outreach agencies, local businesses, and community groups and organizations.
