Legislator Kevan M. Abrahams, Cedarmore Corporation Host 4th Annual Health & Wellness Fair in Freeport
Legislator Kevan M. Abrahams (D – Freeport) in conjunction with Cedarmore Corporation hosted their 4th Annual Health and Wellness Fair at the Freeport Recreation Center on Saturday, Sept. 8.
During the health fair, residents attended workshops promoting healthy eating, self-care and physical activity. Residents were able to connect with dozens of vendors and collect information about different agencies across Nassau County. Free dental screenings, blood pressure and HIV testing were also available.
“Preventative care is the key for a lifetime of good health, which is why I am so pleased to joinforces with the Cedarmore Corporation to offer these health services together – all under one roof – to Freeport’s residents,” Legislator Abrahams said. “I hope everyone who joined us at thishealth fair learned something they can apply to improve their well-being.”
Nassau County’s Department of Aging provided low-income seniors with $20 worth of FNMP vouchers to shop for fresh fruits and vegetables at a farmer’s market. The Freeport Farmers Market also participated in the health fair, providing residents an opportunity to shop for fresh produce.
