The Levett Family On Top In The Funeral Industry

Gregory B. Levett & Sons Funeral Home., Inc. is a family owned and operated funeral service provider established in 1980 by Mr. Gregory B. Levett Sr. and his wife Betty. The Levett legacy of providing traditional, thoughtful and dignified funeral services spans over four generations. Mr. Levett began mastering the art of funeral service at a young age after being introduced to the industry by his father, the late Mr. George W. Levett Sr. Mr. Levett has continued the family tradition and has passed on his knowledge and love of caring for others to his children, Gregory Bernard Jr., T. Lanier, and Deana, who are all active in the day to day operations of the business. The company now includes four locations in Metropolitan Atlanta. It employs over 100 staff members and ten licensed funeral directors who are on call 24 hours a day to serve families of all nationalities who entrust their loved ones to our care.

In 1990, Gregory and Betty Levett established their first location in Scottdale, Georgia. This 5,000 square foot facility still serves as the company’s corporate headquarters. Gregory B. Levett & Sons Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. rapidly outgrew their Scottdale location because of their compassion and careful consideration of others during their time of bereavement. In 2000, Mr. Levett and his family established their second funeral home in Decatur, Georgia. This 9,000 square foot chapel continues to serve over 1300 families annually. In 2004, Mr. Levett established the only African American owned and operated funeral home in the South Gwinnett area. This state-of-the-art facility spans over 12,000 square feet and features six large private rooms, large conference rooms, adequate parking and a 350 seat chapel. Mr. Levett is a visionary and always seeking ways to improve and expand his legacy, so in 2009 he acquired his fourth and largest funeral home to date in Buford, Georgia which features an onsite crematory, intimate viewing rooms and a state-of-the-art showroom. Mr. Levett later sold the Buford chapel to expand in other areas better suited for the families served. In 2014 Mr. Levett went back to his humble beginnings of Conyers, GA and acquired another location which is more than just another location for him. This special facility was a humbling accomplishment not only because he was born and raised in Conyers, GA but because of the strong ties that he has to the Rockdale community. This location not only helped solidify his lifelong dream of having multiple locations that serves all nationalities and religions, but to never forget where he came from by being able to give back to his childhood community. The 10,500 square foot location is a state-of-the-art facility and features 3 large conference areas, 4 large private viewing rooms, a repast space and an intimate chapel that seats up to 300 guests. Mr. Levett’s latest acquisition came in 2015 when he opened Cremation Care of Georgia, a full service cremation facility, which allows him to not only use the crematory for his own customers but also partner with colleagues in the funeral industry to properly cremate their deceased in a professional and dignified way.

Mr. Levett credits his success to providing each family he serves with the best customer service, dignity and professionalism. His vision is to have Gregory B. Levett & Sons Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. globally recognized as the premiere funeral home serving the Metropolitan Atlanta area, with a reputation for excellence and first class service. Mr. Levett has instilled his values and compassion for grieving families into his staff and believes it is their mission to serve every family with reliable and dignified services. It has been an honor to serve the families of celebrities and dignitaries, as well as families from all types of nationalities, religions, and languages over our 35 year history. Mr. Levett and his family continuously express their commitment to others and pour back into their community by being active members in a variety of organizations and making generous donations to various charities.
