New Yorkers Dress up Dogs for Halloween Costume Contest

Halloween is just around the corner and while you look for your human costume, don’t forget about your dog’s costume. The Annual Washington Square Park Halloween Parade and Costume Contest sponsored by NYC-based food company, The Farmer’s Dog, is coming up on Saturday, October 19th from 11 am to 2 pm at the WSP Fountain.

Registering your dog with a $10 donation that will go to the WSP Dog Run Association.

The first 100 registrants are guaranteed a treat bag and several prizes will be given away for categories like Best in Show, Best in Show Group, Most Outrageous and Most Original. 

The top prize is a weekend getaway to The Cottages and Lofts at the Boat Basin in Nantucket. 

Free sketches of your dog are available from artists Sarah Van Evera and Maral Varolian, bodywork is available for your dog from BodyWorks with Veronica and a doggy dry bar (mini face brushing) and Halloween bandanas are also available from New York Dog Nanny.
