=SPACE Launches Free Digital Programming In Response To COVID-19

=SPACE, the co-working space centering multicultural business owners, has launched digital programming available nationwide and streaming weekly on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. The intersectional programming which mirrors that of the physical location in Newark, spans from meditation and wellness sessions for members to cope with anxiety and stress, to other interactive offerings and skill-building workshops around securing funding, marketing and content creation

“=SPACE has created a response to COVID19 that brings access and resources to our community. There has never been more of a need for us to assist small businesses of color in developing new tools, 1 on 1 coaching and guidance through available funding options. As the founder of =SPACE, I know that it takes three times the amount of work to open you business, I have seen the sacrifice and faith multicultural owners put into their visions, into their dream, I can not let them close their doors or give up because of a lack of knowledge about grants, or tools. I built =SPACE for us and by us.” – Medina, Founder =SPACE

Creating a space with people of color at the center, =SPACE understands how important it is to support and uplift their community during this time of uncertainty. Working completely remotely, the =SPACE team  pivoted immediately following the closure of their location to continue to provide and valuable resources and industry connections to multicultural, women and LGBTQ founders. The programming is open to the public and free for nonmembers as well in an effort to continue their commitment to accessibility.

“As one of the largest Black/Brown owned shared-spaces in New Jersey, we dedicate ourselves to providing opportunities and resources to multicultural founders, women ventures, and LGBTQ+ enterprises. We love Newark and always step up to the challenge of ensuring our space is accessible to all individuals who enter our humble abode. With the city’s entrepreneurial community ever growing, =SPACE wants to open wider doors for new and long standing local techies, freelancers, creatives, and everyone in-between.” – Akosua Ayim Interim CEO, =SPACE
