New Doc Examines The Roots Of The American Radical Right — ‘Ku Klux Klan: An American Story’

Winston Churchill wrote, “Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.”

MagellanTV is now showcasing a new documentary, “Ku Klux Klan: An American Story,” and providing it free of charge to anyone who wants to watch it on the MagellanTV platform—through the end of January 2021.

Why is MagellanTV highlighting such an inflammatory topic? The curators of MagellanTV believe the American conversation about hate and racial violence is not complete without a full appreciation of the roots of the American radical right, including one of its most powerful and disturbing manifestations: the Ku Klux Klan.

This powerful film also offers a provocative and timely perspective on American politics today. In recent years, the American radical right has experienced a resurgence, with the FBI documenting a dramatic uptick in hate crimes and domestic terrorism. Groups proclaiming themselves to be Neo-nazis or white supremacists, spurred on by populist politics, have been using social media to spread ideas and messages honed over the years by the KKK.
