Statement From Minority Leader Abrahams: Adoption Of FY 2023 Capital Plan A Resounding Victory For Nassau’s Future

During its Monday, Jan. 23, meeting, the Nassau County Legislature voted unanimously to adopt the Fiscal Year 2023 capital plan and a bond authorization ordinance to fund an array of critical projects across Nassau County. 

After Monday’s action, Nassau County Legislature Minority Leader Kevan M. Abrahams (D – Freeport) issued the following statement: “Following extensive negotiations with the administration, the Minority Caucus is pleased that the 2023 Capital Plan delivers 16 major new traffic safety and infrastructure projects that will bolster public safety and quality of life in the communities that we serve, funds vital law enforcement priorities including ambulances, first responder vehicles, and invests in critical upgrades to the Nassau County Correctional Facility.”

Nassau County Legislature Minority Leader Kevan M. Abrahams (D – Freeport) said, “The Legislature’s unanimous vote is a resounding victory that establishes a strong foundation for key investments in a better future for all Nassau residents.”
