Netflix’s ‘Too Hot To Handle’ Narrator and UK Channel 4 Star

Standup comedian, writer, actress, the hilarious and relatable narrator of “Netflix’s BIGGEST competition show ever.”“TOO HOT TO HANDLE” with season 4 airing on December 7th, Desiree Burch, is taking over the entertainment scene. Burch also currently stars in the new Channel 4 series “THE HORNE SECTION TV SHOW,” which is currently available to stream episodes on All4 and will air weekly on Channel 4 starting on November 17th at 10pm.

Burch plays the TV Show producer in “The Horne Section,” which also stars John Oliver, Georgia Tennant and Camille Ucan in addition to the Horne Section band. The series sees Alex Horne having the chance to finally be the star of his very own late night music chat show, which he insists on filming live from his family home. With the help of his loyal, and much more talented, band The Horne Section, Alex is ready to pull out all the stops to impress the big bosses at Channel 4.

Burch also appeared as a contestant on the UK’s uber-popular comedy game series TASKMASTER and hosted Amazon’s official podcast ESCAPE: THE UNDERGROUND RAILROAD, based on the Amazon series THE UNDERGROUND RAILROAD. She has appeared in dozens of comedy shows including Live at the Apollo (BBC), The Jonathan Ross Show, and the Comedy Central special Desiree Burch Live. With an illustrious international career in comedy under her belt, this funny girl is ready to make her mark.

Audiences all over the world fell in love with Burch’s witty personality when she appeared as the narrator on Netflix’s “TOO HOT TO HANDLE.” The show follows sexy singles on a tropical island who are challenged not to hook up with each other with a $100,000 award for not breaking the rules. No contestant was safe from her voiceover zingers and she instantly became the voice of the viewer on the sofa – snarky, relatable, and nonjudgmental.   Burch also appeared as a contestant on the 12th season of the extremely popular British comedy game series TASKMASTER, where she attempted to complete the challenges set by host Greg Davies. In the program, a group of five celebrities – mainly comedians – attempt to complete a series of challenges, with Davies judging the work and awarding points based on contestants’ performances. The series will air later this year. On the acting front, Burch co-starred in the most recent season of the hit Emmy Award-winning Netflix series MASTER OF NONE and also recently co-starred in Comedy Central UK’s series “DRUNK HISTORY: Black Stories.” 

After graduating from Yale University, Burch moved to New York where her artist aesthetics were honed as a founding member of the New York experimental theatre group Neo-Futurists. While in NYC she also developed her talents on the theatre stage as an actress with favorite roles including Miriam in In the Bar of a Tokyo Hotel, Nurse in Romeo & Juliet, Emilia in Othello and Lu in Rip Me Open. In 2015 she made the move to London where she produced her solo show Tar Baby that tackles the story of race in America and received a Fringe First Award for new writing at the Edinburgh Fringe. She has performed at various storytelling shows and conventions, including RISK!, Yum’s the Word and at the first ever NerdCon: Stories convention. She’s also been heard on The News Quiz (BBCR4), The Now Show(BBCR4), It’s Not What You Know (BBCR4) and on podcasts such as Welcome to Night ValeThe Guilty FeministThe Adam Buxton Podcast, The Richard Herring Leicester Square Theatre Podcast, Made of Human, Dumb White Guy, as well as on the immensely popular podcast Welcome to Night Vale. Without a doubt, Burch is on the trajectory to stardom.
