Census data reveals that the median household income in The Hamptons sits at a major $125,861, the highest in this list and 44% higher than in Hudson Valley, also in New York,  offering a taste of the good life that few other places can match.

With its stunning vineyards, upscale wineries, and lavish resorts, Napa Valley has come out on top in our research with a mind-blowing 2,510,545 hashtags on Instagram – almost 40 times the number of hashtags of Big Sur, the next Californian city on our list. According to census.gov, the median household income in the valley stands at $97,498 – 16% higher than in Big Sur. Napa Valley is the essence of old money, so it’s no wonder that the rich and affluent from around the world flock here to add a touch of glamour to their Instagram feeds.

Jackson Hole, Wyoming has landed a solid third place in our list of the most popular old money destinations, with an impressive 1,202,503 hashtags. This stunning mountain town may not have the same level of glitz and glamour as some of its rivals, but it more than makes up for it with its breath-taking natural beauty and rustic charm. The median household income in Jackson Hole stands at $83,289 – 3% higher than in Hudson Valley, NY, which places 10th. From skiing in the winter to hiking in the summer, Jackson Hole offers an abundance of outdoor activities for those who enjoy a luxurious exploration of the great outdoors.
