Nova Maldives recently announced the arrival of it’s first female PADI Course Director. PADI, the Professional Association of Diving Instructors, is the world leader in scuba diving education

Nestled in the famed South Ari Atoll, Nova offers a serene, eco-friendly island experience where guests can reconnect with themselves, each other, and nature amidst a setting of soft luxury. Surrounded by a vibrant marine ecosystem, Nova is renowned for its exceptional marine experiences, including year-round whale shark sightings – a rarity globally, and over 30 points to spot majestic manta rays. Committed to preserving its waters and the gentle giants within, Nova partners with the Maldives Whale Shark Research Program and holds Responsible Manta Operator accreditation. Their ongoing coral frame sponsorship program allows guests to plant their own coral and witness its growth.

As the first female PADI course director in the Maldives and owner of Moodhu Bulhaa Dive Centre on Villingili Island, Zoona Naseem brings her expertise and passion for diving to the soulful Nova island resort. A trailblazer in the global diving community, Zoona is dedicated to empowering women in the tourism and diving industries, inspiring young people to explore the wonders of the underwater world.

Nova’s empowering event promises an exciting lineup of activities, including guided dives for beginners and advanced divers alike, snorkeling in the resort’s beautiful house reef, and an insightful presentation on Zoona’s diving journey. Guests will have the unique opportunity to learn from Zoona firsthand, with novices experiencing a complimentary trial dive “bubblemaker” session in Nova’s shallow lagoon. Additionally, discounted rates and course credits are available for Discover Scuba Diving courses and entry-level scuba diving courses.
