Author and corporate professional Rahman Hall is bringing a difficult yet necessary conversation to the forefront with the release of his powerful new memoir, Scars, Sins Of My Mother, Faith Of My Father, now available on Amazon Books.
Born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, Hall pulls back the curtain on a childhood marked by abuse—physical and sexual—at the hands of his mother. His early years were defined by pain and trauma until he was eventually rescued and raised by a relative. But as Hall reveals in the book, escaping the situation didn’t mean escaping the scars. Like many survivors, he carried the unresolved pain with him into adulthood, where it resurfaced in ways that threatened to continue the cycle of abuse.
Rather than remain a victim of his past, Hall made the courageous choice to seek professional help. Therapy, combined with his passion for music, became his healing outlets. The process allowed him not only to confront his personal history but also to find a sense of forgiveness—both for himself and for those who hurt him.

Scars, Sins Of My Mother, Faith Of My Father is more than one man’s story. It is a candid exploration of trauma, resilience, and the power of breaking generational cycles. Hall’s account underscores how child abuse, though often hidden, continues to be a pressing societal issue. By sharing his truth, he hopes to encourage others who have suffered in silence to seek healing and begin their own path toward forgiveness and recovery.
“As I share my story within the book, I do hope this will help others who’ve suffered from abuse and let them know there is a way to heal, to forgive, and to break the pattern that can easily continue onward,” Hall says.
The memoir is raw and unflinching, but ultimately uplifting—a testament to the strength it takes to survive and the courage it takes to speak out. Hall’s voice is a reminder that storytelling can be a form of healing, not just for the writer but also for the reader.
