This fall, Broadway legend André De Shields invites audiences into an immersive reimagining of Tartuffe—the classic tale of deception, devotion, and moral unmasking—set within one of New York City’s most exquisite hidden landmarks. From October 1 through November 23, André De Shields is Tartuffe will transform the historic House of the Redeemer at 7 East 95th Street into a world of opulence and illusion, limited to just 100 guests per night.
With an incisive translation by Ranjit Bolt (OBE) and direction by Keaton Wooden, this limited engagement reinvents Molière’s scandalous satire as a decadent ritual of truth and hypocrisy. The performance promises to be more than a play—it’s an experience. VIP guests will gain entry to Tartuffe’s “sycophant soirée,” complete with live music and exclusive access to the House’s breathtaking library, a room originally imported piece by piece from an Italian monastery.
De Shields leads an impressive ensemble including Phoebe Dunn as Dorinne, Charlie Lubeck as Valere, Hannah Beck as Cleante, Chris Hahn as Orgon, Todd Buonopane as Mme. Pernelle, and Alexandra Socha as Mariane. Produced by Tall Order Productions and goaTman, with Broadway & Beyond Theatricals serving as Executive Producer, the production officially opened October 9.
