Healthcare workers at UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center received a special day of appreciation when HBO Max partnered with the cast and crew of The Pitt to host a wellness-focused event that combined relaxation, entertainment, and an exclusive preview of the show’s second season.
Held on January 21, the day-long activation was designed to recognize the dedication of hospital staff while providing a restorative break from the demanding pace of healthcare work. Throughout the day, select spaces within the hospital were transformed into an elevated gifting and wellness suite where employees could unwind and enjoy a range of self-care experiences.
The event featured premium wellness offerings supported by partners including Volvo Car USA, FIGS, and Hyperice. Healthcare workers were invited to take advantage of on-site massages, refreshment stations, and curated self-care products designed to promote relaxation and recovery. Volvo also introduced a special vehicle offer exclusively for UCLA healthcare staff attending the event.
After spending the day enjoying the wellness activities, hospital employees were treated to a red-carpet-style experience leading into the evening’s highlight—an advance screening of Episode 3 from Season 2 of The Pitt. The event included step-and-repeat photo opportunities and VIP-style treatment typically reserved for entertainment industry premieres, bringing a bit of Hollywood to the hospital setting.
The evening concluded with surprise appearances from several cast members who joined attendees for a fireside chat and discussion about the series. Actors including Patrick Ball, Katherine LaNasa, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Isa Briones, and Gerran Howell shared insights about their characters and engaged with the healthcare workers in an intimate conversation following the screening.
The initiative reflects an ongoing effort from HBO Max and the creators of The Pitt to honor frontline medical professionals, whose work often parallels the high-pressure hospital environments portrayed in the series. By bringing the show directly into a real-world medical setting, the event highlighted the connection between the drama on screen and the real-life experiences of healthcare workers.
Season 2 of The Pitt continues to build on the success of its first season, which earned critical recognition and industry awards. The first two episodes of the new season are currently streaming on HBO Max, with new installments from the 15-episode season premiering weekly. The season finale is scheduled to air on April 16.
For the staff at UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center, the celebration offered more than entertainment—it provided a rare moment of appreciation, wellness, and connection in recognition of the vital role healthcare workers play every day.
