Fans of daredevil thrills and American pop culture will soon have a new reason to visit Las Vegas. The Evel Knievel Experience, an immersive museum dedicated to the life and legacy of the iconic stunt performer, is set to open June 27 in the city’s Arts District.
The attraction promises to deliver far more than a traditional museum visit. Designed as an interactive journey through the career of one of America’s most famous daredevils, the experience combines rare memorabilia, immersive storytelling, virtual reality technology, and hands-on exhibits that place visitors in Evel Knievel’s boots—or rather, on his motorcycle.
Originally launched as the Evel Knievel Museum in Topeka, Kansas, the collection has been expanded and reimagined for its permanent new home in Las Vegas. The museum showcases some of Knievel’s most famous possessions, including his signature red, white, and blue jumpsuits, motorcycles used during his legendary stunts, and the famed Snake River Canyon Skycycle X-2.
Among the most notable artifacts is the helmet Knievel wore during his infamous Caesars Palace crash in 1967, a stunt that left him seriously injured and in a coma for nearly a month. Visitors will also be able to explore “Big Red,” Knievel’s fully restored Mack truck and trailer, which served as the traveling headquarters for his stunt tours across America.
Interactive elements are expected to be major crowd-pleasers. Guests can experience a custom 4D virtual reality motorcycle jump, complete with vibrations and immersive effects designed to recreate the sensation of flying over a line of cars. Another exhibit allows visitors to design and attempt their own virtual stunt through an interactive Jump Planner.
Museum co-founder and CEO Mike Patterson said the goal is to introduce Knievel’s story to new generations while giving longtime fans a deeper appreciation of his impact on American culture.
Knievel’s eldest son, Kelly Knievel, who lives in Las Vegas, said the family is excited to share the story behind the man who became a household name through courage, determination, and larger-than-life performances.
Beyond the exhibits, visitors will find a retail shop stocked with memorabilia, apparel, collectibles, and exclusive merchandise, along with an on-site café offering snacks and beverages.
Located at 1001 S. First Street in the Las Vegas Arts District, the Evel Knievel Experience is expected to become one of the city’s newest entertainment destinations, celebrating the fearless spirit of a man whose death-defying stunts captivated millions around the world.
