Las Vegas is putting a baseball twist on its long-standing reputation as the Wedding Capital of the World with a special anniversary celebration that will bring married couples together for an evening of romance, nostalgia and America’s favorite pastime.
The “Love at the Ballpark” celebration is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 30, at Las Vegas Ballpark, where the city will mark the 73rd anniversary of the nickname that has become synonymous with its wedding industry. The celebration will also recognize America’s 250th anniversary by bringing together two enduring American traditions: marriage and baseball.
Members of the Las Vegas Wedding Club who were married or renewed their vows in Southern Nevada are invited to attend the event, which will take place during the Las Vegas Aviators’ game against the Sugar Land Space Cowboys.
The evening will include admission to the game as well as an all-inclusive private reception featuring an Americana-inspired food and beverage buffet, wedding cake, commemorative photo opportunities and special giveaways. Couples will also have the opportunity to mingle with others who chose Las Vegas as the location for their wedding or vow renewal.
The centerpiece of the celebration will be a group vow renewal ceremony, allowing participating couples to reaffirm their commitments in front of family, friends and fellow members of the Las Vegas wedding community.
Throughout the game, couples may also be featured in special in-game activities, including video-board recognitions, a love-story montage, kiss-cam appearances and other entertainment celebrating marriage and romance.
Clark County Clerk Lynn Marie Goya said the event was designed to recognize the role Las Vegas has played in bringing couples together.
The city has issued more than 5 million marriage licenses and counting, according to the Clark County Clerk’s Office. In 2025 alone, the Clark County Marriage License Bureau issued more than 70,000 marriage licenses.
Las Vegas’ connection to its Wedding Capital identity dates to Sept. 23, 1953, when the London Daily Herald first referred to the city as the “Wedding Capital of the World.” Since then, Las Vegas has developed a wedding industry capable of accommodating everything from spontaneous elopements and intimate ceremonies to elaborate celebrations at luxury resorts.
Tickets for “Love at the Ballpark” are $57.68 per person, with a portion of proceeds benefiting Champions for CASA, a nonprofit auxiliary supporting the Clark County CASA Program through recruitment, retention and recognition of volunteers.
Couples can also submit their wedding photos and love stories for possible inclusion in the evening’s in-game festivities.
