New York media personality Shener is entering a new chapter in her career, expanding beyond red carpet coverage and social media to pursue opportunities in television hosting and modeling.

A native New Yorker, Shener has spent years building her profile as a correspondent at entertainment and fashion events while developing a loyal audience on Instagram under the name “YellaRae.” Her coverage has included WE tv premiere events and the Essence Fashion House.

Now, she is preparing to reintroduce herself to audiences under her birth name, Shener, while continuing to build on the following she has developed throughout her career.

“I have a loyal following on social media as ‘YellaRae’ and want to take it further by expanding my focus towards the mainstream,” Shener said. “Doing this by my birth name, ‘Shener,’ doesn’t mean I’m leaving my longtime fans behind, but inviting new and future followers. It’s more like a ‘reintroduction.’”

One of her primary goals is to move into television hosting. Shener is developing a talk show concept designed to feature guests from a variety of backgrounds, including entertainment, politics and human interest.

The program is expected to be developed with a production team and made available through streaming platforms, giving Shener an opportunity to expand the type of interviews and conversations she has conducted throughout her media career.

In addition to television, Shener is pursuing modeling. She is currently developing a portfolio that she plans to present to potential modeling agencies as she explores opportunities within the fashion industry.

The career expansion builds on her experience as a journalist and media personality while opening the door to additional creative fields. Shener also plans to explore acting and increase her voiceover work for products and brands.

Her interest in voiceover work is not entirely new. She previously gained experience in the area during her early radio career, providing a foundation for her interest in returning to the format.

For Shener, the transition is less about leaving her previous work behind and more about creating additional opportunities.

“There’s so much I plan on offering beyond what I’ve already accomplished as well as my roots as a journalist,” she said.

Her plans include interviewing professionals and leaders across different industries, exploring fashion and modeling, and expanding into acting and commercial voiceover projects.

The move also reflects the changing nature of media careers, where journalists and personalities can build audiences across television, social media, streaming platforms and other forms of digital entertainment.

As Shener moves forward, she hopes her longtime followers will continue the journey while new audiences discover her work under her birth name.

With television, modeling, acting and voiceover among her next goals, Shener is positioning her career for a broader range of opportunities while drawing on the journalism and media experience that helped establish her in the first place.
