One of the most surprising revelations during the podcast was Dex’s pride in being a father. He shared, “People don’t know that about me. I have three kids, and I brag about them. All my kids are honor students, they play sports—I can brag about my kids.” He emphasized his dedication to discipline, joking, “Just take away their electronics and tell them, ‘I love you’…and that’s what people don’t know about me—I’m a damn good father.”
Dex also opened up about the deep emotional impact of Mac Miller’s death, saying, “We lost Mac Miller to fentanyl… that was a big hurt for us.” He credited the loss as a pivotal moment in his own life, realizing he needed to quit his destructive behavior. “Once I saw that, I knew I had to check myself. I had to really be like—look bro, we ain’t gonna be doing this anymore, because this ain’t getting us nowhere,” he added. Dex revealed he walked away from his past addictions to substances like Xanax and Codeine, and hasn’t touched them in over three years.
Now focused on his sobriety, Famous Dex is actively working on his music comeback. Despite the struggles, he showed his fans he’s still got it by dropping a freestyle during the podcast, giving a glimpse of the talent that made him a household name.
