Professional BMX athlete, entrepreneur, and filmmaker Nigel Sylvester is taking his global biking movement to the next level with the launch of the third annual GO Ride, kicking off August 9 in New York City. This year’s high-energy event expands beyond a single city, challenging riders to join Sylvester on an ambitious 30-hour, three-city journey — starting in New York, continuing to Miami, and concluding in Mexico City.

Founded by Sylvester, GO Ride is more than just a cycling event — it’s a celebration of community, creativity, and culture. Designed to unite riders from around the world, the annual experience has quickly evolved into an international phenomenon. “Every ride tells a story,” Sylvester said. “Every mile connects us. I created GO Ride to celebrate the energy of this sport and inspire the next generation of riders and dreamers.”

The 2025 edition boasts a powerhouse list of sponsors, including Jordan Brand, Saratoga Water, Specialized Bikes, Mercedes-Benz, and McDonald’s — which officially launches its partnership with Sylvester during GO Ride as part of the brand’s 1 in 8 initiative.

For Sylvester, the McDonald’s collaboration is deeply personal. During the summers of 2001 and 2002, he worked at a McDonald’s in Queens, an experience he credits with shaping his work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. “I know firsthand how a job under the Golden Arches can open doors and teach skills that last a lifetime,” he said. As part of the partnership, McDonald’s will offer free Chicken McNuggets and World Famous Fries to attendees during the event.

“Nigel embodies the spirit of our 1 in 8 community through his creativity, passion, and dedication to bringing people together,” said Nubia Murray, Senior Director of Brand Communications at McDonald’s. “GO Ride is the perfect platform to showcase how McDonald’s Crew members — past and present — are making an impact across industries and cultures.”

Last year, GO Ride drew thousands of participants in a single-day, 30-mile ride across London and New York. With its expanded, multi-city format, 2025 promises to be Sylvester’s biggest ride yet, blending sport, style, and storytelling to inspire a new wave of riders worldwide.
