Aeromexico Makes Aviation History With Dual Global Honors for Performance and Passenger Experience

Mexico’s flagship carrier, Aeromexico, has secured a rare double victory in the aviation industry, earning top global recognition for both punctuality and passenger experience. The airline was named the world’s most punctual carrier for 2025 by Cirium, marking the second consecutive year it has achieved the distinction—an industry first.

According to Cirium’s annual On-Time Performance Review, Aeromexico operated nearly 190,000 flights in 2025, with 90.02 percent arriving on time and 91.88 percent departing as scheduled. The airline not only maintained its leading position for seven months of the year but also widened the gap between itself and its closest competitor. It improved its performance by more than three percentage points compared to 2024, further cementing its operational dominance.

The airline also led in Completion Factor, a key metric that tracks how many flights are completed without cancellations or diversions, underscoring its reliability across a complex global network.

The milestone was celebrated at an awards ceremony in Mexico City attended by Aeromexico CEO Andres Conesa and Cirium CEO Jeremy Bowen. Conesa credited the achievement to the company’s workforce and long-term strategy focused on operational excellence, fleet modernization, and advanced technology.

Aeromexico’s success has been driven by several key factors, including the addition of more than 160 next-generation aircraft, improved internal processes, and stronger coordination with airports and aviation authorities. The airline has also invested heavily in workforce training and digital tools designed to optimize performance across every stage of flight operations.

In addition to its punctuality win, Aeromexico received another major honor: Best Global Airline in North America for 2026 from the Airline Passenger Experience Association. The award recognizes excellence in customer service, safety, and overall travel experience.

APEX rankings are based on verified passenger feedback and data from TripIt, which analyzed more than one million flights across 600 airlines worldwide. The recognition highlights Aeromexico’s ability to balance operational precision with customer satisfaction in a highly competitive market.

By the end of 2025, Aeromexico had transported more than 24.5 million passengers across 129 routes spanning Mexico, North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America.

Together, these dual awards signal a defining moment for Aeromexico, positioning the airline as a global leader not only in reliability but also in delivering a high-quality passenger experience.
