As travelers increasingly seek more personalized vacations and destinations away from overcrowded tourist hotspots, Emerald Cruises & Tours is introducing a different way to experience the Caribbean—one that replaces mega-ship terminals with secluded islands, hidden harbors and intimate yacht adventures.
Rather than following the traditional cruise circuit, Emerald Cruises’ luxury yachts are designed to access smaller ports and remote destinations that larger vessels cannot reach. The result is a slower-paced, more immersive journey that allows travelers to experience the Caribbean’s culture, cuisine and natural beauty beyond its busiest attractions.
“The Caribbean is far more than its most famous ports,” said Ken Muskat, President of Scenic Group USA & LATAM. “Some of the region’s most rewarding experiences are found in the smaller islands, hidden anchorages and local communities that larger ships often bypass.”
Emerald’s Caribbean itineraries highlight destinations such as Martinique, Bequia, Union Island, Carriacou and Saint Barthélemy, offering guests opportunities to explore colorful villages, pristine beaches and local traditions without navigating the crowds often associated with larger cruise ships.
One of the company’s featured itineraries is the seven-night Vibes of the Virgin Islands voyage, scheduled to sail from December 2026 through April 2027. The itinerary visits the U.S. Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands, Sint Maarten and Saint Barthélemy while emphasizing relaxed exploration, scenic anchorages and boutique island experiences.
The Dec. 13-20, 2026 sailing will feature special culinary programming led by acclaimed chef Rachel Hargrove, known for her appearances on Top Chef and Bravo’s Below Deck. Guests will enjoy menus inspired by Caribbean ingredients, flavors and culinary traditions throughout the voyage.
In March 2027, Emerald Cruises will also offer its Quintessential Caribbean specialty sailing featuring Rum Sommelier Alejandro Ferris. The itinerary includes stops in destinations such as Antigua, Virgin Gorda and Puerto Rico while showcasing the region’s rich rum-making heritage through guided tastings, educational sessions and cultural experiences.
A standout feature aboard Emerald’s yachts is the Marina Platform, which allows guests to step directly into calm Caribbean waters for swimming, snorkeling, paddleboarding and other water activities. The platform also provides access to equipment including SEABOB underwater scooters, creating an experience that feels more like a private yacht charter than a traditional cruise.
“Our yachts were purpose-built to unlock destinations that larger vessels simply cannot reach,” said Robert Castro, Vice President of Marketing for Scenic Group USA & LATAM.
The all-inclusive voyages also include onboard gratuities, Wi-Fi, beverages, meals and port charges, along with contemporary suites, open-air lounges and personalized service.
As demand continues to grow for experiential travel and smaller-scale cruising, Emerald Cruises is positioning its yacht voyages as an alternative for travelers looking to discover a quieter, more authentic side of the Caribbean—one where the journey is defined not by crowded ports, but by meaningful connections with the islands, their people and the surrounding sea.
