Americans searching for kitchen renovation ideas may be looking beyond traditional design magazines and showrooms. Increasingly, celebrity homes are becoming the inspiration, with searches for the kitchens of Taylor Swift, Drew Barrymore and King Charles climbing sharply over the past year.
New search analysis from CopperSmith, a company specializing in customized architectural metalwork, found that Taylor Swift’s kitchen has emerged as the most searched celebrity kitchen among those analyzed. Searches for “Taylor Swift kitchen” now generate approximately 26,000 Google searches each month, representing a 152% increase over the past year.
Drew Barrymore’s kitchen is also attracting significant attention. Searches for “Drew Barrymore kitchen” have increased 75% year over year, with approximately 9,000 searches each month.
But the biggest jump belongs to King Charles. Searches for his kitchen have surged 3,459% over the past year, reaching approximately 4,000 monthly searches. The increase highlights the growing fascination with royal interiors and the design details associated with historic residences.
The findings, based on Google search behavior analyzed using Glimpse search data, suggest that celebrity kitchens are increasingly serving as digital mood boards for homeowners preparing their own renovations.
According to CopperSmith founder Ryan Grambart, homeowners are paying attention to everything from cabinetry and lighting to metals, colors and overall layouts. Social media, home tours and magazine coverage have also made celebrity interiors easier for the public to see and study.
The celebrity trend coincides with a broader change in American kitchen design. Homeowners appear to be moving away from the once-dominant all-white kitchen in favor of darker colors, natural materials and more luxurious finishes.
Searches for black kitchens currently generate about 803,000 monthly searches, compared with 684,000 for white kitchens. Interest in “hotel luxury kitchen” designs has jumped 3,430% over the past year, while searches for “English country kitchen” have increased 760%.
The shift suggests homeowners are increasingly interested in kitchens that feel distinctive rather than overly standardized.
Celebrity influence may be helping drive that change. Swift’s warm, traditional aesthetic, Barrymore’s approachable and inviting style and the classic craftsmanship associated with royal residences each offer different interpretations of a kitchen with personality.
Rather than copying a celebrity kitchen exactly, homeowners can borrow individual elements, from cabinet styles and lighting to hardware, finishes and color palettes.
The trend also points to a larger evolution in renovation culture. With celebrity homes more visible than ever, homeowners have access to a virtually endless collection of real-world design inspiration.
For those planning their next renovation, the newest kitchen trend may simply be finding a celebrity style that feels like home.
