Fall may be one of the best-kept secrets for travelers looking to experience Lake Mead National Recreation Area without the crowds of peak summer. Lake Mead Mohave Adventures is calling September and October “Secret Season,” when visitors can enjoy cooler temperatures, fewer people and warm waters while taking advantage of special travel savings.
This year, the company is also promoting the season as “Value Season,” offering discounts on lodging and boat rentals through Oct. 31.
The promotions provide an opportunity for families, couples and groups to plan a lake getaway while potentially spending less on accommodations and recreation. Among the available offers is 25% off houseboat rentals at Callville Bay Marina and Cottonwood Cove Resort & Marina.
Travelers looking for traditional accommodations can receive 20% off motels and flotels at Cottonwood Cove Resort & Marina and Temple Bar Resort & Marina.
For visitors who want to spend their days on the water, Lake Mead Mohave Adventures is offering 25% off powerboat rentals at all four of its marina destinations. Participating locations include Callville Bay Marina, Cottonwood Cove Resort & Marina, Temple Bar Resort & Marina and Willow Beach Marina & Campground.
The variety of options allows visitors to customize their experience, whether they want to spend several days aboard a houseboat, book a room near the water or rent a boat for a day of exploring.
The fall season can also provide a different experience from the busy summer months. With fewer crowds, visitors can spend more time enjoying the region’s waterways and surrounding outdoor spaces without dealing with packed beaches and peak-season congestion.
“During ‘Secret Season,’ there’s no fighting crowds or dealing with packed beaches,” said Lisa Duncan, senior director of operations, Lake Mead Mohave Adventures. “Best of all, the weather and water temperature are still ideal for a day at Lake Mead or Lake Mohave, making these two months the best time of the year to get outdoors.”
Evenings offer another attraction, with lodging and houseboat stays providing opportunities to spend nights under the stars after a day of outdoor recreation.
For travelers planning a fall escape, the combination of lower rates, warm water and cooler weather could make Lake Mead and Lake Mohave an appealing alternative to more traditional autumn destinations.
The promotional offers are available through Saturday, Oct. 31, giving visitors several weeks to plan a getaway during the fall season.
