KJ Dillard Celebrates New York’s It Girls With New Song ‘Girls in NY’
KJ Dillard is putting his love for New York City, music and fashion on full display with his latest single, “Girls in NY,” an upbeat track celebrating the women and energy that make the city unique.

The recording artist, model and professional skateboarder, who appeared on Bravo’s Summer House, released the song and its colorful music video this week. The video features DJ Maddi Reese of Bravo’s Southern Hospitality and captures a high-energy party atmosphere inspired by New York nightlife.
Dillard recently teased the track at Soho club Ketchy Shuby alongside Reese, giving fans an early taste of the summer-inspired anthem.
“Girls in NY” was inspired by Dillard’s experiences growing up surrounded by women, as well as his connection to New York’s culture, nightlife and creative communities.
“I come from a household of all girls, and I am fueled by that energy already. This is an anthem for girls in New York, and girls in general. I want them to feel like the shit, because they are,” Dillard said.
The song also reflects Dillard’s interest in bringing New Yorkers together. He and New York-based photographer Disposable Relli hosted an open casting call through Partiful to recruit participants for the music video. The effort was designed to build community and showcase people from across the city.
Dillard’s creative identity extends beyond music. His background in skateboarding and modeling has influenced his approach to fashion, with artists including Tyler, the Creator, A$AP Rocky and Pharrell among his inspirations.
For the “Girls in NY” video, Dillard embraced that individuality, wearing a Supreme fur coat and leaning into a punk-inspired aesthetic.
“I wanted to give it more of a punk feel,” he said. “Fashion for me is everything, besides music…I have a very unique sense of style and I hope that people are able to take inspiration from how I show myself to the world.”
He added, “It’s a lot like skateboarding. It’s a lot like music. You just do whatever you want – I wear whatever I want. I can be flamboyant at times, or subtle at times. It just depends how I’m feeling.”
The song originated during a writing session following a conversation with Dillard’s manager, International Ferg of Pinnacle Culture, about favorite restaurants, clubs and summer activities in New York.
Now focused on music, Dillard is continuing to develop his career with new performances and shows planned for fans. His work also includes a collaboration with Kenneth Cole’s Purposeful Voices initiative, for which he serves as a menswear ambassador.
“Girls in NY” is available on streaming platforms and YouTube.
