Delta Air Lines is expanding its presence at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) with new nonstop routes, increased flight frequencies and an enhanced premium travel experience planned for summer 2027.

The airline expects to operate its largest and most premium schedule in Los Angeles history, offering more than 200 daily departures at the summer peak alongside its partners. The expansion reinforces Delta’s position as Los Angeles’ No. 1 airline and reflects its continued investment in the Southern California market.

Among the additions are new nonstop flights to Monterey, California, and Philadelphia, as well as increased service to several popular domestic destinations.

Delta will launch twice-daily nonstop service between Los Angeles and Monterey Regional Airport on Dec. 19, 2026. Operated by Delta Connection on Embraer 175 aircraft, the route will give travelers easier access to California’s Central Coast, including Carmel-by-the-Sea, the Monterey Peninsula and Big Sur. The service arrives ahead of one of golf’s biggest championships next summer.

Delta will also introduce daily nonstop flights between Salt Lake City and Monterey on the same date.

Beginning June 7, 2027, the airline will add daily nonstop service between Los Angeles and Philadelphia, operated on an Airbus A321neo. The route will provide Southern California travelers with another option for visiting the historic East Coast city, known for its culinary scene, arts and cultural attractions.

Delta is also increasing flight frequencies on several existing routes. Raleigh-Durham service will rise to two daily flights beginning April 12, 2027, while Boston service will increase to five daily flights starting May 6.

San Diego flights will increase to five daily beginning June 7, 2027. On July 11, the airline will expand service to two daily flights to Cincinnati, three daily flights to Houston, three daily flights to San Antonio and eight daily flights to Seattle.

“We’re continuing to invest in more ways for customers to experience everything California has to offer,” said Amy Martin, Delta’s vice president of network planning. She added that the new Monterey routes and continued growth at LAX will create more opportunities for travelers while reinforcing the airline’s long-term commitment to Los Angeles and the West.

Los Angeles World Airports also welcomed the expansion.

“Our airline partners’ investment in connectivity helps strengthen Los Angeles’ position as a leading global destination,” said Courtney Moore, chief revenue and experience officer at Los Angeles World Airports.

With the expanded schedule, new destinations and continued focus on premium service, Delta is positioning itself to serve more travelers flying to and from Los Angeles during the busy summer travel season.
