100 Black Men of Eastern New York, Inc. Inaugural Black History Month Program a Huge Success

On Thursday, February 23rd, 2023 the 100 Black Men of Eastern New York, Inc. hosted its inaugural Black History Month program at Jovia Financial Credit Union. The 100 Black Men of Eastern New York, Inc. is a newly chartered chapter of 100 Black Men of America, Inc. Its leadership has a lengthy record of serving Downstate, New York. The Eastern New York district comprises of the counties of Kings, Nassau, Queens, Richmond, and Suffolk and concurrently with the Southern District, the waters within the counties of Bronx and New York.

Brooklyn native: Phil Andrews, Founding President – 100 Black Men of Eastern New York, Inc. and President of the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc.

Founding President: The Founding President of the 100 Black Men of Eastern New York, Inc. has appeared on WABC Here and Now, NBC’s Positively Black, and was featured in Black Enterprise Magazine as a BE Modern Man.  He has served as a Past President of a local chapter of 100 Black Men of America, Inc. as a two-term president. Mr. Andrews is President of the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce New York State’s largest African American Chamber of Commerce. In 2019 the Metro District of the United States Small Business Administration named Mr. Andrews as the 2019 Small Business Champion for 14 Counties in Downstate, New York.

The 100 Black Men of Eastern New York, Inc. was formed to address the current issues of our day in our community, and to build upon the illustrious foundation of the men who have paved the way for a more just, and equitable society.

The “100” advocates for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in all aspects of society. Our focus is to bring together a variety of men from diverse backgrounds who are committed to the community, and have exemplified excellence in their prospective spheres of influence.
