New York ranks in the top 10 states for employees who love their boss!

The pursuit of job satisfaction is a common aspiration, however only 65% of US employees(1) claim to be satisfied in their role. One key factor in creating a positive workplace culture is the relationship between bosses and employees, fostering an environment where bosses are not just leaders but also figures of admiration. With this in mind, Slot Tracker sought to uncover which US States truly love their boss the most, and what makes these relationships flourish. 

The experts analyzed survey data from US residents in order to gain insights into their perceptions of their bosses and the underlying factors influencing these sentiments.

New York ranks 6th among states with employees who love their boss!

Slot Tracker can reveal that New York employees rank sixth among states that like their bosses the most. Among New York residents, 65.4% admitted to liking their boss, citing good communication as the primary factor. New York employees are significantly happier with their bosses compared to their neighboring state, Pennsylvania (58%), which ranked 24th among states analyzed.

It can revealed that residents from South Carolina like their boss the most with a significant 68.6% expressing a positive opinion. Amongst respondents, those aged between 50-69 are most fond of their bosses,with a staggering 72.7% admitting to liking them – 12% higher than 18-34 year olds. While the affinity for their bosses is fairly balanced, males in South Carolina exhibit a greater fondness to their bosses than females, with good management being cited as the primary reason. 

North Carolina ranks as the second most satisfied state with their boss with an impressive 67.2% of respondents liking their boss. This is a staggering 17% higher than neighboring state, Tennessee, whose boss-employee relationships fall within the bottom 20% of states surveyed. Individuals aged 18-34 are the most content with their bosses (75.7%) which is 15.7% higher than 35-49 year olds who represent the age demographic who are the least satisfied with their boss relationships. Furthermore, North Carolina boasts the second highest satisfaction rate among 18-34 year olds overall, narrowly trailing behind Utah’s 76.9%.  North Carolinians highly commend their bosses for their good communication skills, which they consider to betheir best quality. 

Bosses in Washington secured third place, with 66.7% of employees expressing a favorable opinion which they attributed to their boss’s great management skills. Interestingly, there is a slight gender disparity in Washington, with 69.2% of males showing a preference for their boss compared to 63.9% of females. Thisrepresents the third-highest male boss preference across all states. Washington residents exhibit a higher affinity for their bosses compared to neighboring state Ohio, with a significant percentage increase of 13.1%. Notably, individuals aged 35-49 in Washington like their bosses substantially more than any other age demographic with 80.9% highlighting their exceptional boss-employee relationships, placing them at the top out of all states included.

Residents of Oklahoma like their boss the least!

Slot Tracker can reveal that residents of Oklahoma are the least fond of their bosses. Only 51.5% of residents admit to liking their boss, which is 17.1% less than top ranked state, South Carolina. Individuals aged 50-69 are the most unhappy with their bosses, with only 44.4% admitting to liking them. This percentage is the lowest among all states and age groups. In Oklahoma, males appear to like their bosses the most with 57.6% of positive reviews, compared to 45.2% of females. Females in Oklahoma are the second least fond state overall, following behind females in Nevada, where only 33.3% like their bosses.
