A Career Dedicated to Affordable Housing

Wright’s journey into property management began unexpectedly. After earning her degree from Morgan State University, she found herself working for a property management company, where she discovered a passion for improving the lives of residents in vulnerable communities. This career path allowed her to channel the same dedication and drive she once applied to her athletic training career, fueled by her deep love of sports.

Over the past two decades, Wright has developed expertise in managing a wide variety of housing market types, with a strong focus on transitional property management in the New York Metro area. Her experience spans everything from new construction projects to management transitions and the onboarding of new ownership. Throughout her career, she has proven to be an expert in city and state reporting, asset financial health, and employee engagement.

A Commitment to Excellence

Wright’s extensive list of qualifications is a testament to her commitment to the field. As an Accredited Residential Manager (ARM) and a Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS), she has earned multiple certifications from the National Center for Housing Management (NCHM), including Fair Housing and MOR Specialist certifications. Her expertise also extends to the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program, where she has successfully onboarded and managed numerous LIHTC units.

Her leadership in the industry goes beyond her daily responsibilities. Wright serves as a Governing Council Member with the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), further demonstrating her dedication to shaping the future of affordable housing management.

Transforming Communities Through the NYCHA PACT Program

One of Wright’s most significant contributions has been her involvement in the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) Permanent Affordability Commitment Together (PACT) program. Through her work with minority-owned developer Dantes Partners, Wright is helping transform the lives of nearly 900 residents across Washington Heights, Harlem, and Sugar Hill. The $166 million project, currently 40% complete, focuses on modernizing and renovating buildings, including Audubon Houses, Bethune Gardens, and Marshall Plaza.

Residents are set to receive fully renovated apartments featuring new kitchen appliances, energy-efficient windows, and upgraded elevators. These improvements not only enhance the living conditions for residents but also foster a sense of community and stability.

A Lasting Impact on the Industry and Beyond

Wright’s leadership has also extended to managing portfolios across some of the largest property management firms in the region. As a Regional Manager at Related Management, she was responsible for over 1,000 units in New York and New Jersey, overseeing both affordable and mixed-income housing programs. Her work at GFB Management saw her successfully transition 717 Section 8 units to new management, while her role as General Manager at Dermot Companies involved managing 346 units, including commercial space. Her experience with unions such as SEIU-32BJ and Local No. 447 AFL-CIO further highlights her versatility and leadership in the industry.

Through her unwavering dedication, Wright has become a driving force in the affordable housing space, advocating for residents and communities in need. Her legacy is one of resilience, innovation, and a deep commitment to improving the lives of those she serves.
