Nation’s Leading Drone Makers in High Demand as Global Drone Usage Soars

Draganfly Inc.

As drone usage increases across both military and civilian sectors worldwide, demand is surging for innovative unmanned aerial systems (UAS) developed in North America. Draganfly Inc., a leading drone solutions and systems developer, has announced the first deliveries of its Flex FPV (First Person View) systems to a major U.S. military prime contractor supporting land systems operations for allied forces.

The Flex FPV system is designed with a modular core architecture, allowing operators to switch between arm and propeller sizes without specialized tools. This flexibility enables a single system to support a wide range of missions including reconnaissance, training, and tactical payload delivery.

With a top speed of over 149 kilometres per hour, the Flex FPV supports both traditional FPV flight and autonomous waypoint missions. It is capable of carrying payloads of up to 10 lbs through picatinny rail or custom mounts, offering high agility and functionality in combat and high-pressure environments.

“This delivery marks an important milestone for the Flex FPV platform,” said Cameron Chell, President and CEO of Draganfly. “The system was born out of our work supporting frontline operations in Ukraine and has been refined through rigorous testing by multiple defense partners. We’re incredibly proud to see it deployed by one of the world’s top defense contractors.”

Originally launched in 2024, the Flex FPV has been evaluated by military and public safety users in various settings. The current order includes both core units and modular components tailored to specific user requirements.

Draganfly has seen increasing interest from defense and public safety agencies looking for reliable, North American-developed UAS platforms that can adapt to the changing needs of modern warfare. The Flex FPV’s capabilities are being viewed as a response to this demand for versatility and reliability in the field.
