The Frick Collection has announced its 2025–26 concert season, signaling the return of its acclaimed classical performance series following the museum’s reopening in April 2025. This season, the series will feature twenty-five concerts running from October 10, 2025, through May 22, 2026—more than double the number of performances offered in previous years—providing audiences with a rich array of musical experiences across historical periods and styles.
For the first time, concerts will take place in the Stephen A. Schwarzman Auditorium, a newly constructed 218-seat space designed by architect Annabelle Selldorf. The intimate auditorium allows audiences to experience music in close dialogue with the museum’s renowned collections, offering a setting that complements both the performers and the visual art on display.
A highlight of the season is the Frick’s inaugural ensemble-in-residence, which will provide ongoing performances and workshops throughout the year. In addition, the series will feature special collaborations with the museum’s curators, allowing musicians and audiences to engage directly with the Frick’s permanent collection and select special exhibitions. These programs are designed to deepen the connection between art and music, revealing new interpretive layers and enhancing the museum’s educational mission.
The 2025–26 lineup also introduces a lunchtime concert series aimed at fostering emerging talent in classical music. These midday performances provide an opportunity for audiences to experience rising artists in a relaxed setting while supporting the next generation of performers.
Audiences can expect a broad spectrum of musical styles, ranging from the intricate polyphony of the Renaissance to contemporary works by living composers. Several performances feature New York City debuts, while others welcome back celebrated artists who have previously appeared at the Frick. The expanded season reflects the museum’s commitment to diversity in programming, offering both historical masterpieces and innovative new compositions.
Michael Conforti, Director of Music at the Frick, emphasized the transformative nature of the series in the new space: “The Stephen A. Schwarzman Auditorium allows us to expand the scope of our concert programming in ways we could only imagine before. We are thrilled to offer audiences immersive experiences that unite the visual and performing arts, from Renaissance to contemporary music, in dialogue with our extraordinary collection.”
Tickets for the 2025–26 Frick Collection concert season are on sale now, with options for single performances and multi-concert packages. The museum encourages early reservations, as demand is expected to be high for this inaugural season in the new auditorium.
