Tom Felton Joins New Broadway Cast of ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’

The magic of the Wizarding World returns to Broadway this fall with a newly assembled cast for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at New York’s Lyric Theatre. Producers Sonia Friedman Productions, Colin Callender, and Harry Potter Theatrical Productions have announced the new company,began performances on November 11, with tickets available now at HarryPotterBroadway.com.

Among the most exciting additions is Tom Felton, best known to millions as Draco Malfoy in the original Harry Potter film series. Felton will make his long-awaited Broadway debut, reprising his iconic role as Draco from November 11, 2025, through May 10, 2026.

Joining Felton onstage are several acclaimed cast members from the North American tour: John Skelley as Harry Potter, Emmet Smith as Albus Potter, and Aidan Close as Scorpius Malfoy. Each earned rave reviews for their performances in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. Skelley, who was part of the original Broadway company, also originated the role of Harry Potter in the San Francisco production.

Returning to their roles are Sarah Killough as Ginny Potter, Daniel Fredrick as Ron Weasley, Rachel Christopher as Hermione Granger, and Kristen Martin as Delphi Diggory. Janae Hammond steps into the role of Rose Granger-Weasley.

The production will also welcome Darby Breedlove, Dani Goldberg, Alexis Gordon, Caleb Hafen*, Samaria Nixon-Fleming, Kiaya Scott, and Maren Searle***, joining a talented ensemble of returning company members. (*Denotes Broadway debut.)

Since premiering in London’s West End in 2016, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has captivated audiences around the world, selling more than 11 million tickets globally and winning 60 major honors, including nine Laurence Olivier Awards and six Tony Awards, among them Best New Play.

Now the most successful non-musical play in Broadway history, the production has earned over $430 million in ticket sales and more than 3.5 million tickets sold in New York alone. It also holds the Guinness World Record for highest-grossing non-musical play and ranks as the third longest-running play in Broadway history.

Based on an original story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany, the play is written by Jack Thorne and directed by John Tiffany, featuring design and movement by an award-winning creative team.
