An Argentine-born burger brand has claimed global bragging rights after taking the top prize at the first-ever international burger competition in Dubai.
La Birra Bar was named Overall Winner at the inaugural Dubai Burger Championship, held January 8–11, 2026, beating nearly 20 competitors from around the world. The event drew close to 20,000 attendees and featured entries from countries including Spain, Brazil, England, Sweden, and the United Arab Emirates.
At the center of the win was the brand’s signature creation, the “Crispy Dubai” burger, which impressed both the public and a panel of expert judges. The final result was determined through a combined voting system—half from attendees and half from a jury of seven culinary specialists. Five of those judges unanimously selected La Birra Bar as the standout competitor.

Founded by Daniel Cocchia, La Birra Bar has built its reputation on a commitment to quality and fully artisanal production. Cocchia described the win as a milestone moment for the brand, noting that the Crispy Dubai burger was designed to reflect both its Argentine roots and Dubai’s elevated dining scene.
The burger itself blends classic and luxury elements. It features 100% Argentinian beef patties, white cheddar cheese, and the brand’s signature crispy onions. A house-made dressing combines traditional Argentine chimichurri with mayonnaise and a touch of black truffle, creating a balance of bold and refined flavors. Served on a freshly baked artisan bun, the burger aims to deliver a mix of textures—crispy, creamy, and juicy—in every bite.
The Dubai Burger Championship marks a new platform for global burger brands to compete on an international stage. Among the notable competitors were Hundred Burgers from Spain, Burger & Beyond from London, and several popular UAE-based chains, highlighting the growing global interest in gourmet burger culture.
La Birra Bar’s victory adds to its long list of accolades. What began in 2001 as a neighborhood burger spot in Buenos Aires has grown into an international brand with locations across Argentina, the United States, Spain, and Chile. Today, the company operates more than two dozen restaurants worldwide.
A key factor in its expansion has been its hands-on approach. The brand produces its own bread, beef, sauces, and toppings in-house, maintaining tight control over quality and consistency.
With its latest win, La Birra Bar continues to solidify its reputation on the global food stage—proving that even in a crowded field, craftsmanship and innovation can still rise to the top.
