Travel to Hawaii is getting a major upgrade as Delta Air Lines rolls out its largest seasonal schedule to the islands yet—adding new routes, restoring popular flights, and expanding service from key U.S. hubs.
Starting Dec. 19 Delta will launch a brand-new nonstop route from Minneapolis–St. Paul to Maui, giving Midwest travelers a direct path to one of Hawaii’s most sought-after destinations. The service will run daily during peak holiday and spring break periods, with five weekly flights scheduled throughout the core winter season aboard the Airbus A330-300.
At the same time, Delta is bringing back nonstop service between Boston and Honolulu, reconnecting New England with Hawaii’s capital city. The route will initially operate daily during the busy late-December travel window before shifting to four weekly flights for the remainder of the winter season.
“Hawaii plays an important role in our long-haul leisure network,” said Amy Martin, Vice President of Network Planning at Delta. “This expansion strengthens connectivity from key U.S. hubs while giving customers more choice in how they reach the islands.”
The updates don’t stop there. Delta is significantly boosting service across its broader Hawaii network. Flights from Atlanta to Honolulu will see an added second frequency three times weekly starting in early January 2027. Detroit to Honolulu service will expand to daily flights beginning Nov. 9, while New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport will also move to daily Honolulu service by April 2026.
Out West, Salt Lake City travelers will benefit from an earlier launch of daily service to Kona, while Los Angeles to Kona flights will be upgraded to larger widebody aircraft for the winter season, offering a more comfortable long-haul experience.
Passengers can expect a premium onboard experience across Delta’s widebody fleet, including four cabin options—Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+, and Delta Main. Delta One customers, in particular, will enjoy lie-flat seating, chef-curated meals, and luxury amenities designed by Missoni.
The airline is also enhancing the ground experience. In Boston, travelers have access to the upscale Delta One Lounge and multiple Sky Clubs, while Minneapolis–St. Paul offers expanded lounge space, including a new Sky Deck.
With more routes, increased frequency, and upgraded aircraft, Delta is positioning itself as a top choice for travelers heading to Hawaii this winter. For vacationers looking to escape the cold, the message is clear: getting to paradise just got easier—and more comfortable—than ever before.
