Caribbean hospitality and tourism leaders will gather in Barbados this November for the 2026 Caribbean Hospitality Industry and Exchange Forum, as the industry looks toward the challenges and opportunities expected to shape tourism through 2030.

The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association has unveiled the program for CHIEF 2026, scheduled for November 16-18 at the Wyndham Grand Barbados Sam Lords Castle All-Inclusive Resort.

This year’s theme, “Caribbean Tourism 2030: Resilient. Regenerative. Ready. Practical Strategies to Lead Smarter, Operate Better and Grow Stronger,” reflects the industry’s focus on developing practical strategies for the next decade.

CHIEF is designed to give hospitality and tourism professionals access to peer insights, professional development and strategies addressing some of the most pressing issues facing the region.

The program is organized around six content pillars: Technology & AI; Talent and Workforce Development; Sustainability, Resilience, Risk Management and Climate Adaptation; New Business Models & Revenue Streams; Operational Management; and Sales, Marketing, Channel Management and Social Media.

Artificial intelligence will be a major focus of the event. The session “The AI-Powered Hospitality Business: What Every Leader Needs to Know Before 2030” will examine how AI is changing the way hospitality companies compete, operate and grow, while exploring emerging opportunities and business models.

Crisis preparedness will also take center stage. “When Crisis Hits: Building Preparedness, Response and Business Continuity Plans That Work” will address how businesses can prepare for extreme weather, cyber incidents, health emergencies, infrastructure failures and other disruptions.

Another session, “The Future of Caribbean Tourism: Emerging Markets, New Demand Opportunities and Global Competitive Trends,” will focus on emerging traveler segments, changing source markets and global tourism trends that could influence the region’s competitiveness.

Workforce development will be addressed through “From Employee to Entrepreneurs: Empowering the Next Generation of Caribbean Tourism Innovators.” The session will explore ways hospitality businesses can encourage innovation, support local enterprise and foster entrepreneurial thinking.

CHIEF 2026 will also examine the growing demand for wellness, adventure and cultural travel. “Wellness, Adventure and Cultural Travel: Capturing High-Value Demand” will focus on developing experiences designed to attract higher-value travelers and help businesses differentiate themselves.

Additional sessions will cover revenue growth, leadership, sustainability, technology, workforce development and operational excellence.

Registration is open to both CHTA members and non-members. Special regional airfare is also available through interCaribbean Airways and Winair.

With the Caribbean tourism industry preparing for the next phase of growth, CHIEF 2026 will bring industry leaders together to examine how technology, changing traveler expectations, workforce challenges and climate risks could shape the region’s hospitality future.
