Takway AI Launches Sweekar, a Pocket-Sized AI Pet That Grows With Its Owner

Takway AI is introducing Sweekar, a pocket-sized artificial intelligence companion designed to bring the concept of a digital pet into the physical world.

Unlike traditional virtual pets or stationary AI assistants, Sweekar arrives as a physical egg and develops through daily interaction. The company says the companion’s personality is shaped by how it is raised, meaning two Sweekar devices can develop differently based on the relationships their owners build with them.

The 89-gram device is designed to move through four physical life stages: Egg, Baby, Teen and Adult. Its physical transformation is powered by a precision stepper motor, allowing Sweekar to change shape as it progresses through its virtual life.

Takway AI is also emphasizing long-term memory as a key part of the experience. Sweekar can retain information about its owner, including voice interactions, habits, stories and moods, and bring those details into future conversations. The company says the free plan includes 128 memory slots, while the Pro plan offers unlimited memory.

Personality development is another central feature. Rather than selecting a fixed personality when purchasing the device, users influence how Sweekar develops through their interactions over time. The company describes the system as MBTI-inspired, with the personality emerging from the relationship between the owner and the AI.

Behind the companion is a hybrid AI system that combines Gemini Flash with ChatGPT-class models. Takway AI says Sweekar is multimodal and context-aware, allowing it to respond to interactions while continuously learning from its experiences.

Portability is another major part of the product’s design. Sweekar can operate through a phone hotspot, allowing users to take the AI companion with them rather than keeping it connected to a fixed home Wi-Fi network.

The company also envisions Sweekar as a companion that can continue developing after reaching adulthood. According to Takway AI, once Sweekar reaches Level 20, it becomes autonomous within its virtual world. It can take virtual jobs, travel and return to its owner with stories about its experiences.

That approach is intended to make Sweekar more than a gadget that provides short-term entertainment. Instead, Takway AI is positioning it as a long-term companion whose personality and memories accumulate over time.

At just 89 grams and small enough to fit in a pocket, Sweekar is designed to travel alongside its owner throughout the day.

The product represents a growing effort to give AI a physical presence, combining conversational technology, memory and interactive hardware in a format inspired by the familiar experience of raising a virtual pet.
