discovery+ is changing the way subscribers browse and watch programming with the launch of a new play-listed channels experience featuring curated feeds built around some of the platform’s most popular franchises.
Rolling out across all devices and subscription tiers in the United States, the new channels are designed to give viewers a simpler way to start watching without spending time deciding what to stream. Subscribers can drop into an always-on feed and binge familiar favorites while also discovering other programs from the discovery+ library.
The initial lineup includes channels dedicated to popular series such as 90 Day Universe, Beat Bobby Flay, Deadliest Catch, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, Evil Lives Here, Ghost Adventures, Gold Rush and House Hunters.
The 90 Day Universe channel brings together programming from the franchise, including The Other Way, Happily Ever After?, The Single Life and The Last Resort. Food fans can turn to Beat Bobby Flay for culinary competitions featuring celebrity chef Bobby Flay, while Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives follows Guy Fieri as he visits restaurants and highlights local specialties.
Adventure and reality programming are also represented. “Deadliest Catch” chronicles commercial crab fishing and the dangerous conditions faced by crews at sea. “Gold Rush” follows miners pursuing gold under challenging conditions.
For true-crime and paranormal fans, the Evil Lives Here channel features stories from people who lived alongside perpetrators, including episodes from related spinoffs. “Ghost Adventures” offers paranormal investigations led by Zak Bagans and his team.
Meanwhile, House Hunters provides a steady stream of home searches, relocations and real estate decisions through House Hunters and House Hunters International.
One of the most notable additions is NASA+, NASA’s official streaming service for live and original programming. The experience will include live events and announcements, views from the International Space Station and Earth View cameras.
The NASA+ Live Earth Views channel will provide a 24/7 live stream from the International Space Station, giving viewers continuous views of Earth from orbit.
NASA+ programming will stream in Dolby Vision on supported devices, offering enhanced color, contrast, brightness and detail. HBO Max will also carry select NASA+ special events in Dolby Vision.
“When subscribers click into the NASA channels, they will be dropped into the NASA+ live streams at the point of playback,” Warner Bros. Discovery said.
For curated channels, viewers will enter at the beginning of the episode currently airing and can use playback controls to move backward or forward into upcoming episodes.
The launch is designed to make streaming more passive and accessible, combining the familiarity of traditional television channels with the flexibility of on-demand streaming. For discovery+ subscribers, the new format provides another way to find something to watch without having to scroll through an extensive library.
