The Guggenheim New York is inviting visitors of all ages to take part in a summer and fall lineup of public programs featuring live music, art-making, family activities, teen programming, architecture tours and participatory experiences.
On Sept. 15, the museum will present “blessing the boats”: Poet Aracelis Girmay on Lucille Clifton. A Ceremony for Water is scheduled for Dec. 8.
Rosal’s ongoing participatory project in Café Rebay will feature prompts and hands-on activities intended to encourage interpersonal connection and conversation. The project emphasizes the value of gathering and invites visitors to consider poetry as an experience that can bring people together.
Together, the summer and fall programs reflect the Guggenheim’s efforts to expand the museum experience beyond traditional gallery viewing. Through music, film, architecture, poetry, games and creative activities, the museum is creating additional ways for New Yorkers and visitors to engage with art and one another.
The public programs complement the Guggenheim’s exhibitions and provide opportunities for visitors to experience the museum as a gathering place for creativity, learning and cultural exchange.
