Hilton is expanding its hospitality technology platform with new artificial intelligence tools designed to make the travel-planning process more conversational, from the initial hotel search through booking and the guest’s stay.

The company is connecting Hilton.com, the Hilton Honors App and emerging AI-powered search and assistant platforms, giving travelers more ways to discover properties, compare options and plan trips using natural-language prompts.

At the center of the effort is the Hilton AI Planner, which recently launched on desktop and is rolling out through the Hilton Honors App. The generative AI-powered digital concierge allows travelers to describe what they are looking for in a trip and receive assistance exploring destinations, comparing Hilton properties and building a stay around their preferences.

Hilton is also expanding its presence in AI-powered search. In the coming weeks, travelers will be able to discover Hilton hotels through Google Search’s AI Mode, where they can explore and compare properties through a conversational planning experience.

One feature allows Hilton Honors members to incorporate their points directly into their hotel searches. Travelers can use natural-language requests to look for properties that can be booked with Hilton Honors Points, such as searching for hotels in a particular destination during specific dates.

Once travelers have selected a property, they are directed to Hilton.com to redeem their points and complete the reservation.

For travelers using ChatGPT, Hilton property information can also be accessed through the company’s Hilton plugin. Users can ask questions about Hilton hotels, explore recommendations and learn more about individual properties before continuing to Hilton.com to make a reservation.

Hilton is also developing a Claude Connector that will bring hotel images, property information and pricing into Claude, providing travelers with additional details as they consider where to stay.

The technology extends beyond the booking process. Once a reservation is made, the Hilton Honors App can serve as a digital hub for the guest experience, including mobile check-in, room selection and Digital Key at participating properties. Guests can also communicate with hotel staff through in-app messaging.

At properties equipped with Hilton’s Connected Room technology, guests can personalize aspects of their room experience and control compatible room technology through their mobile devices.

“At Hilton, we are dedicated to innovating to meet the changing needs of our guests, our industry and the world around us,” said Michael Leidinger, senior vice president and chief information officer at Hilton. “As travelers’ needs evolve, we are at the forefront of hospitality technology, developing experiences that create more seamless journeys, anticipating what comes next and leaving room for the unexpected.”

The company’s latest technology initiatives reflect a broader shift toward conversational travel planning, where travelers can use everyday language to research destinations, evaluate accommodations and move from inspiration to booking with fewer steps.
