Dionne Warwick Joins ‘Voices for ALS’ Benefit at Carnegie Hall

Music legend Dionne Warwick is joining an impressive lineup of performers for “Deborah Silver & Fabulous Friends: Voices for ALS,” a special benefit concert coming to New York City’s Carnegie Hall on Oct.11.

The Grammy Award-winning singer and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer will perform alongside Deborah Silver and vocalist Stella Cole during the 7:30 p.m. concert at Carnegie Hall’s Zankel Hall. Warwick’s appearance comes as she prepares to release her new album, “DWuets,” this fall.

The concert will raise funds and awareness for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), the progressive neurodegenerative disease commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. The illness was thrust into the national spotlight after baseball great Lou Gehrig was diagnosed with ALS in 1939.

For concert host Deborah Silver, the cause is deeply personal. Silver’s sister, Marjie, is living with ALS, giving the evening an added significance beyond its star-studded musical lineup. Proceeds from the event will support ALS research.

Silver, a Grammy-nominated vocalist with multiple No. 1 Billboard jazz albums, has built a career around collaborations with some of music’s most celebrated performers. Her recording partners have included Bill Medley of the Righteous Brothers, Jack Jones, Freddy Cole, Ann Hampton Callaway, Ray Benson of Asleep At The Wheel, Ronnie Milsap, Pam Tillis, Steve Tyrell and jazz icon Diane Schuur.

Silver recently teamed with Schuur for a new recording of “The Lady Is A Tramp,” continuing her tradition of bringing acclaimed voices together through music.

Joining Silver and Warwick is Stella Cole, a vocalist whose jazz and pop performances have earned her a global following since she emerged in 2020. Cole has developed a reputation for combining classic influences with a contemporary performance style, making her a fitting addition to an evening built around both music and philanthropy.

The benefit also comes years after the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge became a worldwide phenomenon, raising more than $200 million for ALS research and awareness. The campaign helped bring unprecedented public attention to the disease and the need for continued research.

“Deborah Silver & Fabulous Friends: Voices for ALS” promises to bring together celebrated performers, jazz and pop fans and supporters of the ALS community for an evening at one of New York’s most iconic concert venues.

With Warwick headlining alongside Silver and Cole, the Carnegie Hall event will use the power of music to support a cause that has touched millions of lives.
