
On June 30th, 2025 Phil Andrews President of the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce & 100 Black Men of Eastern New York raised funds for the African American Small Business Foundation, Inc.
The fundraiser was held in conjunction with Mr. Andrews’ birthday month which commemorated 40 years of service to the community. The venue for this momentous occasion was held at luxurious Prestige Palace located at 40 West Merrick Rd., Freeport, New York 11520. A special citation from Dorothy L. Goosby, Deputy Supervisor was presented to Phil Andrews to mark this special occasion, and a quote by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow is inscribed as follows “The heights by great men reached and kept were not attained by sudden flight, but while their companions slept, were toiling upward in the night.” Phil Andrews is a longtime leader on Long Island and the surrounding areas, and is a former resident of the Village of Hempstead, and formerly was the Vice President of the Haircut Hut Barber Shop Franchise.
The Master of Ceremonies for the evening was Rose Ward, Vice President of the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. and Owner of NFocus Management Group, LLC
The African American Small Foundation, Inc. was founded in March of 2022 in New York State. The African American Chamber Small Business Foundation, Inc. services counties in Downstate, New York which includes New York City, Long Island, and the downstate counties of Duchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster, and Westchester. The African American Small Business Foundation, launched in New York, is a non-profit organization focused on supporting small businesses, particularly in downstate New York, with a focus on financial literacy, entrepreneurial training, and access to capital. The foundation raised One Thousand Seventeen Hundred and Fifty-Six Dollars to support the mission of the African American Small Business Foundation, Inc.
The foundation offers a range of services

Phil Andrews’s involvement underscores the foundation’s strong connection to the African American business community and his experience in advocating for small businesses according to the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce.
