Optimum Business and LIA Foundation Relaunch Small Business Grant Program Across Long Island

Small businesses across Long Island recently got another major boost as Optimum Business and the LIA Foundation relaunch the L.O.C.A.L. Small Business Grant Program for its third year.

The initiative, known as “Lifting Our Community Businesses Across Long Island,” awarded 40 small businesses in Nassau and Suffolk counties with $5,000 grants to help support growth, expansion, and long-term success. In addition, two grand prize winners—one from Nassau County and one from Suffolk County—will each receive $20,000, giving applicants the opportunity to receive up to $25,000 total.

The program aims to strengthen the region’s small business ecosystem while helping owners create jobs and expand services in their local communities.

Since launching in 2024, the grant program has already awarded $500,000 to 90 small businesses across Long Island, helping entrepreneurs navigate economic challenges and scale their operations.

“At Optimum Business, we understand the vital role Long Island’s small business community plays in the region’s growth,” said Andrew Rainone, senior vice president of National Sales at Optimum. “We’ve witnessed the significant difference that financial support can make for these businesses and the neighborhoods they serve.”

Beyond direct funding, the Long Island Association will also provide added support through membership opportunities. New applicants will receive a six-month membership, while grant recipients new to the organization will be awarded a complimentary one-year membership to help them build networks, access resources, and strengthen operations.

This year’s relaunch comes during a major milestone for the Long Island Association, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2026. The organization says the continued partnership reflects its century-long commitment to supporting the region’s business community.

“As we celebrate the LIA’s 100th anniversary, it is especially meaningful to continue our partnership with Optimum Business,” said Stacey Sikes, vice president of Government Affairs and Communications at the Long Island Association.

The program is also expanding its outreach through partnerships with the Long Island Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, helping ensure minority-owned businesses have greater access to funding opportunities.

“The grants provide much-needed resources to help stimulate the local economy and to help businesses thrive in today’s economy,” said Phil Andrews, president of the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce.

The winners will be notified in the coming months, with a Small Business Summit hosted by Optimum Business and the Long Island Association to celebrate the winners scheduled for June.

Winners will be announced later this year following a competitive review process.

For many business owners facing rising costs and economic uncertainty, the L.O.C.A.L. grant program could be the opportunity that helps turn survival into long-term success.
