Beauty Trends Are Going Full 2016 Glam With Rhinestones, Bold Color and Dramatic Lashes

According to celebrity makeup artist Cassandra Moon, beauty lovers are fully embracing bold makeup, colorful lashes and dramatic “full beat” looks inspired by the return of 2016-era glam.

Beauty trends are already shifting away from minimalist makeup and moving toward highly creative looks packed with shimmer, rhinestones and coordinated beauty styling.

Moon says one of the biggest trends will be coordinated beauty aesthetics, with makeup matching bright hair colors, nails and outfits. Colored eyeliner, graphic eye placement and multicolored lashes are also expected to dominate social media beauty tutorials and festival content.

Helping fuel the trend is Lilly Lashes, which is spotlighting products designed to stand out in festival crowds and withstand long days in the desert heat.

Among the company’s featured products are the Multicolored Individual Lash Flares, colorful lash clusters designed to create customizable eye looks ranging from subtle accents to full rainbow effects. The lashes can be layered above or beneath natural lashes for dramatic impact.

The brand is also pushing its Self-Adhesive DayDreamer Half Lash, which uses heat-activated adhesive technology designed to stay in place without traditional glue. The wispy half-lash style creates a fluttery, elongated look that fits the soft glam aesthetic still popular across TikTok and Instagram.

Moon believes the return of “full beat” makeup marks a major shift after several years dominated by natural and barely-there beauty trends.

Beauty brands are increasingly leaning into expressive makeup as younger consumers embrace nostalgia-driven trends mixed with experimental artistry. Festival season, long known as a testing ground for emerging beauty looks, is expected to heavily influence mainstream makeup trends throughout the rest of the year.

From rhinestone-covered eyes to vibrant lashes and sculpted glam looks, this spring’s festival beauty scene appears ready to celebrate maximalism — and makeup lovers are expected to go all out.
