New Yorkers and visitors looking for a unique cultural experience can continue enjoying free evenings at one of the city’s most treasured museums thanks to a new partnership between The Frick Collection and Louis Vuitton.

The museum announced that its popular monthly First Fridays program will continue through May 2027 under the new name “Louis Vuitton First Fridays.” The luxury fashion house will sponsor the initiative as part of a three-year cultural partnership aimed at expanding public access to the museum and its renowned collection.

The announcement follows the successful return of First Fridays earlier this year after the Frick’s reopening. The program quickly attracted strong attendance, reflecting continued public enthusiasm for after-hours museum experiences that combine art, music and social engagement.

Held on the first Friday of each month, excluding January and September, the free evening events allow visitors to explore the museum’s galleries and special exhibitions from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Admission is complimentary for guests ages 10 and older, providing a rare opportunity to experience the Frick’s celebrated collection outside of regular museum hours.

In addition to gallery access, visitors can participate in a variety of special programs designed to deepen engagement with the artwork. The evenings feature live musical performances, gallery talks led by museum experts and interactive art-making activities that encourage creativity and exploration.

Dining also plays a role in the experience. Guests can enjoy full-service meals at the museum’s café, Westmoreland, while refreshments are available in the elegant Garden Court and the James S. and Barbara N. Reibel Reception Hall.

Museum officials say the program aligns with broader efforts to make the Frick more accessible to diverse audiences and create new ways for visitors to connect with art and history.

“The success of our recent First Fridays events reflects an ongoing strong public interest in the museum, now a year after our reopening,” said Axel Rüger, the Frick’s Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Director. “We have been pleased to once again offer these unique, after-hours experiences in our galleries each month.”

Rüger also expressed gratitude for Louis Vuitton’s support, noting that the sponsorship will help sustain the initiative while broadening public access to the institution’s historic spaces and collections.

The Frick Collection reopened following an extensive renovation and enhancement project that modernized visitor amenities while preserving the historic character of the museum’s iconic Fifth Avenue home.

As cultural institutions continue seeking innovative ways to engage audiences, Louis Vuitton First Fridays offers an appealing blend of accessibility, education and entertainment. For art lovers, families and curious first-time visitors alike, the monthly series provides an opportunity to experience one of New York’s most beloved museums in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
