Erica Silverglide is bringing more than two decades of gemological expertise to a new fine jewelry collection designed for collectors who appreciate the science, rarity and individuality behind exceptional gemstones.

Silverglide, a formally trained jewelry designer, Graduate Gemologist, gem dealer and educator, has launched Ignite, the first fine jewelry collection from GemologyGeek. The New York-based brand’s new collection arrives alongside a redesigned website that reflects the evolution of a business that began as an educational resource and grew into a respected gemstone sourcing and design brand.

Ignite features rings, pendants and earrings incorporating rare natural gemstones, including diamonds selected for their distinctive optical properties. Some designs are limited-edition, one-of-a-kind pieces created around the idea that jewelry should be as individual as the person wearing it.

There are no reproductions, reorders or duplicates of the collection’s one-of-one jewels.

For Silverglide, that philosophy is central to Ignite. The collection is inspired by the idea of a spark—the beginning of an ambition, accomplishment or personal milestone that eventually develops into something tangible.

One of Ignite’s most distinctive elements is Silverglide’s use of fluorescent diamonds. Fluorescence occurs when certain gemstones absorb ultraviolet light and emit visible light, creating a glow that disappears once the ultraviolet source is removed.

While blue is the most common fluorescence found in diamonds, green, yellow and orange reactions are considerably rarer. Silverglide views the phenomenon not as an imperfection but as a natural expression of a gemstone’s unique structure.

Only an estimated 15% of minerals and gemstones exhibit any fluorescence. In diamonds, approximately 25% to 35% display fluorescence under standard long-wave ultraviolet light.

Silverglide carefully evaluates each fluorescent diamond selected for Ignite for beauty, transparency and overall quality, avoiding stones with undesirable haziness.

For her, fluorescence adds an element of discovery to a piece of jewelry—something that may not be immediately visible but reveals itself under the right conditions.

That emphasis on discovery reflects GemologyGeek’s origins. Silverglide initially created the platform to help consumers better understand gemstones and jewelry. Over time, the educational project developed into a sourcing and design business built around transparency, gemological knowledge and exceptional stones.

Now, that educational mission is being incorporated directly into the jewelry experience.

Silverglide also offers retailers and their teams educational trunk shows that combine jewelry shopping with gemological instruction and storytelling. The programs can be customized for customers, sales associates or both, helping consumers better understand the characteristics and value of their purchases while giving retail teams additional tools for engaging shoppers.

With Ignite, Silverglide is positioning GemologyGeek at the intersection of fine jewelry, gemological education and collecting. The collection invites wearers to look beyond conventional notions of beauty and discover the scientific mysteries and natural characteristics that can make a gemstone truly one of a kind.
